Distributed software teams often face configuration conflicts, delayed synchronization, and uncertainty about the correct software version. This study presents a blockchain-based software configuration management framework for distributed development teams. The framework records source-code commits, configuration updates, branch merges, dependency changes, and release tags as permissioned blockchain transactions. Digital signatures, version hashes, smart contracts, and consensus rules are used to validate each change before repository synchronization. The framework was evaluated with 2 to 12 distributed teams and compared with centralized configuration management and conventional distributed repositories without blockchain. Results showed that the proposed method maintained synchronization success above 96% even at the highest team count, while the comparison methods declined more strongly as collaboration scale increased. The framework improves version integrity, change traceability, conflict control, and shared trust across teams. It provides a practical approach for managing configuration changes safely in large, geographically distributed software development environments with frequent concurrent updates.
